If your Dacor was bought on or after November 1, 2020, Dacor’s published terms give it a full two-year warranty, whether it cooks, cools, cleans or vents, with accessories left out. Refrigerators get more: full-size Dacor refrigeration adds six years of sealed system coverage with parts and labor, and units purchased after April 1, 2026 move to a ten-year sealed system term that takes in the compressor, parts only. In a built-in kitchen, knowing which layer still applies before anyone is booked saves a lot of back-and-forth.
The layers of Dacor coverage, shortest to longest
Dacor’s coverage is stacked, and each layer runs on its own clock from the original purchase date.
- Cosmetic: sixty days on every product. Scratches, dents or chipped glass must be reported within 60 days of purchase, so look over panels, glass and trim the week the appliance arrives rather than after the remodel dust settles.
- Full warranty: two years on cooking, cooling, cleaning and ventilation products bought on or after November 1, 2020. Accessories sit outside it.
- Sealed system on full-size refrigeration: six years, parts and labor. For purchases after April 1, 2026, Dacor lists ten years on the sealed system, compressor included, parts only.
- Column refrigerator paperwork: the user manual for the DRR24980, DRR30980, DRR30990 and DRR36980 prints its own schedule, with 60 days cosmetic, 2 years full, 6 years sealed system parts and labor, 12 years sealed system parts only and 15 years on the compressor, parts only.
Those last two entries do not line up exactly, and that is not unusual: warranty terms get revised, and the version that binds is the one tied to your model and the date on your receipt. Keep the manual that shipped with the unit, and if sources disagree, ask Dacor to confirm coverage for your serial number.
What usually decides whether a claim is accepted
Beyond the dates, a handful of things tend to settle a claim. Proof of purchase comes first, because every window above is counted from the day you bought the appliance, not the day it went in. Consumable parts are excluded: light bulbs and filters are the owner’s job at any age. Parts-only terms mean the component ships under coverage while the trip and the labor to install it do not, which matters most on a compressor in year eight or ten. And, like most appliance warranties, Dacor’s is written around defects in normal household use, so damage from a move, a leak from another fixture or a faulty installation is a separate conversation.
One practical point: warranty repairs are arranged through Dacor itself. We are an independent service that is not affiliated with Dacor, so while your unit is inside a parts-and-labor window, open the claim with Dacor first. Once it is past that window, or the fault is a part the warranty leaves out, an independent technician is a normal route, and our Dacor repair overview lists what we work on.
Filters and descaling: the parts you look after yourself
Because filters are not covered, it is worth knowing the reset routines. On the DRR24980, DRR30980, DRR30990 and DRR36980 column refrigerators, the Filter indicator blinks red once the water filter has been in for about six months, or roughly 300 gallons. Fit the new cartridge, hold Filter Reset for 3 seconds, then let the dispenser run for about 7 minutes to clear air and loose carbon from the line. The deodorizer filter in the same models has an 18-month life; when its indicator blinks red, change it and hold Deodorizer Reset for 3 seconds.
Water is a real factor here. Fountain Hills, like most of the Valley, has hard water, and the minerals that leave white rings on shower glass also crust the inside of steam generators. The DOB30M977 steam wall oven keeps count for you: once Steam Bake and Steam Roast have logged 12 hours between them, the Descale indicator lights, and two further hours of use without descaling locks both modes out. The descale cycle takes 3 hours and uses 13.5 oz (400 ml) of water with 1.7 oz (50 ml) of descaling agent. Mineral scale counts as upkeep rather than a defect, so keeping ahead of it stops a working oven from turning into a repair nobody pays for but you.
Genuine Dacor parts versus aftermarket
Genuine parts are made to the drawings for your model, so the connector, the mounting points and, on electronic boards, the software all match what the appliance expects. Aftermarket parts come from other companies and are cut to fit a range of models. Some are harmless, such as a bulb of the correct type and wattage. Others cause trouble far beyond what they save. A door gasket that seals loosely lets warm desert air in and frost builds on the evaporator; a control board that is close but not identical can throw faults that look like a second failure; and a water filter that seats poorly can drip behind paneled cabinetry where nobody notices for weeks.
While any layer of coverage is still running, stay with genuine parts, since a failure traced to a non-Dacor component hands the claim reviewer an easy reason to say no. After coverage ends the choice is yours, but for sealed system work, controls and anything that carries water or gas, the genuine part is the sensible default.
Finding the right model, serial and part number
Every correct order starts with the full model and serial numbers, not the name on the badge. On the column refrigerators listed above, both sit on a label inside the refrigerator wall, and the manual’s diagram shows the serial number on the drawer wall. Copy the entire string, including any letters or digits after the base model, because those suffixes separate versions that can take different parts. On ovens, ranges and dishwashers the label usually hides somewhere you only see with a door or drawer open: around the oven door frame, behind a range’s storage drawer or along the edge of a dishwasher door.
Then:
- Photograph the label so nothing gets mistyped.
- Dig out the receipt or delivery paperwork that shows the purchase date.
- If the old part has its own number printed on it, photograph that too; makers sometimes retire a part number in favor of a newer one, and the old number still points to the right replacement.
- Write down the symptom and when it began, since that is the first thing a technician or Dacor’s claim desk will ask.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the Dacor warranty include labor?
Labor is included in the six-year sealed system term on full-size Dacor refrigeration, and a full warranty like the two-year term normally covers it as well. The longer sealed system and compressor terms are parts only, so in those years the part is supplied but the visit and the fitting are billed separately.
Are water filters and light bulbs covered by the Dacor warranty?
No, Dacor treats filters and light bulbs as consumable parts and leaves them out of its warranty. On the column refrigerators, plan on a new water filter about every six months and a deodorizer filter every 18 months, and press the matching reset button after each change so the indicator starts counting again.
How long do I have to report a scratch or dent on a new Dacor?
You have 60 days from the original purchase date to report cosmetic damage to Dacor. Because that clock starts at purchase and not at installation, an appliance left boxed in a garage during a remodel can burn through most of the window before anyone looks at it closely, so unwrap and inspect it early.
Is Dacor a good brand?
Dacor is a premium built-in line, and how well it serves you depends mostly on the exact model and on having service nearby. Weighing it against Thermador, or a Dacor range against a Wolf range, is best done model by model: compare the features you will actually use and read each written warranty for your purchase date.
Where is the model number on a Dacor refrigerator?
On the DRR24980, DRR30980, DRR30990 and DRR36980 column refrigerators, the model and serial numbers are printed on a label inside the refrigerator wall, and the manual's diagram puts the serial number on the drawer wall. Photograph that label and copy every character, suffix included.
